The bus sets off down Praed Street
towards London's West End. As you approach the traffic lights look out for a new
development of flats faced in red brick and with shops at street level (Tesco
express). Behind here is the Paddington canal basin, a spur off the Grand Union
canal which connects London to the Midlands. There is access to the basin at the
corner of the block, and from here it is a 15 minute walk to the grandly-named
Little Venice. On the way there are some intriguing bridges one which
unfolds like an armadillo and another which is designed like a giant screw. |
