35: The Savoy Hotel on the Strand

Savoy HotelThe wraps are now off and the Savoy has re-opened after many years refurbishment. The road that leads to the hotel is the only one in the UK where motorists must drive on the right rather than the left. It is said that this came about to help cab drivers who are first able to drop passengers at the Savoy Theatre on the right side of the road and then simply continue round to the hotel entrance to pick up the next fare.
