Here is a map of London's West-End to show how small the distances are
between the different areas. Walking is always the most interesting way to get
from A to B, and can often be quicker than taking the tube or bus.

Exploring further by 'tube' ...
Travel from the centre of London is easy as eight Underground train
lines pass through here. It's useful to remember the colours of the lines and
(roughly) which direction the lines go in. Here's a diagram to help.

The bridges over the Thames ...
Here is a diagram showing the bridges crossing the River Thames,
going from Lambeth Bridge downstream to Tower Bridge. The newer pedestrian
bridges have become attractions in their own right in the way that the famous
