1800 - Grade II listed pub

Overlooking what was once the village green the Crown Tavern interior still has many original Victorian features.

The outside open space became a rallying point for political meetings in the 19th century. The Marx memorial library is nearby, and it is claimed that the pub was the place where Vladimir Lenin first met Joseph Stalin while he was on a visit to London.
