1677 - The pub is Grade I listed

In a courtyard off the busy High Street, this is the only surviving galleried coaching inn in London. It is a short walk from London Bridge on the South side of the river.

Long before the arrival of the railway, people travelling around the country by horse-drawn carriage would rely on the coaching inn for a break in their journey and to provide food, drink and accommodation.
