Dispelling the gloom,

As the cobbles succumb to the heat.

But across from the Victorian brick,

Is a shop that is modern and slick.

Where the Onitsuka sign,

In a black, bold design,

Gives the ancient tradition a kick.

For the trainers are sleek and they’re new,

In a window of glass and of blue,

While the ghosts of the trade,

In the warehouse’s shade,

Are enjoying the puzzling view.
