London ultra-short walk (01)

Off St. Martin’s Lane, Cecil Court is filled with shops which specialize in antique maps, esoteric and first-edition books, tarot cards, prints and engravings.

Fans of Harry Potter say that this little street, with its uniform Victorian shopfronts, could have been the inspiration behind Diagon Alley.

Look for the blue plaque at No.9. In 1764, an eight-year-old Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart lived here while touring London. It was during his stay in Cecil Court that the young prodigy composed his first symphonies.
