London ultra-short walk - 28

There has been a market in Berwick Street since 1778, one of London’s oldest. Over time, the traditional fruit and veg stalls have mostly been replaced by hot food stalls catering to Soho office workers at lunchtime.

You will always find an excellent assortment of global street food, though the traders may change slightly depending on the day. Mouthwatering choices can include:

Malaysian curries served over steaming beds of rice,

Mediterranean, budget-friendly falafel wraps,

Grilled chicken doners served with chips and garlic sauce,

Steamed bao buns with crispy chicken or vegan mushroom fillings, Caribbean rotis, and traditional doubles.

The market gets busy between one and two o’clock, so it’s best to arrive a little earlier to avoid the queues.
