40: Albert Bridge seen from Wandsworth Bridge

Albert BridgeAs you cross the river, look downstream to see Albert Bridge, one of London's prettiest, particularly at night when it is lit by 4000 low-energy lightbulbs. The bridge has never been rebuilt (unlike all the others except Tower Bridge) but periodically strengthened to prevent collapse. The extra supporting concrete piers in the middle were added in 1973 as a temporary measure. Now a Grade II listed structure, the bridge may become pedestrian-only in the future.
