8: Hard Rock Cafe on London's Piccadilly

London Hard Rock CafeThis was the first of the chain restaurants to open in 1971. The famous collection of rock 'n' roll memorabilia that decorates the walls was started with a guitar donated by Eric Clapton and it has since grown to more than 70,000 items. The souvenir shop just next door is in a converted bank and there is a small museum downstairs with regular free tours. Items from the collection on show include John Lennon's glasses, Jimmy Hendrix's guitar and a bustier once worn by Madonna.
